Open letter from the European Society for Organ Transplantation (ESOT) to condemn and take actions against the war in Ukraine and to ensure that health services can continue to provide care to its population

This open letter is on behalf of the European Society for Organ Transplantation (ESOT) to express our full support to the People of Ukraine and to stand up for democracy, freedom and safety.

ESOT is the community, the home for all those with interest in solid organ transplantation (SOT) from across the European continent and beyond to share best practices in science, research and education in the field of SOT, with the ultimate objective of improving patient’s care and well-being.

We will not rest until Putin is tried as a war criminal, says Iratxe García

Today the European Parliament passed a resolution condemning the Russian army’s attack against Ukraine and backing strong measures to put pressure on the Russian government to stop the war and withdraw their forces. The Socialists and Democrats, who have negotiated this legislative text, will wholeheartedly support this resolution.

During the plenary debate, the president of the Socialists and Democrats, Iratxe García, said:

ECPC stands with Ukrainian cancer patients and people

The European Cancer Patient Coalition strongly condemns the invasion of Ukraine by the Russian armed forces as it is a direct threat to democracy and puts at risk the lives of millions of Ukrainian citizens, including cancer patients and their families. We would also like to show our support to the Ukrainian ECPC Members and ECPC Member organisations in Romania and Poland, who currently try to offer their support with all the available resources they have.
