ANEC, ECOS and ETUI welcome today’s adoption of the Standardisation
Regulation1 by the European Parliament. We applaud the commitment of
the Parliament to support the continued financing of the public interest
in the private European Standardisation System, and to set expectations
for the strengthening of the voice of societal interests in the standards
development process. We urge the Council to concur.
Brussels, 10 September 2012 - EPEE/EHPA welcome the results of the exceptional stakeholder consultation, organised last Thursday by the European Commission’s DG Energy. It was greatly appreciated that Energy Commissioner Mr. Oettinger took the time to hear all stakeholders and to create the necessary transparency in this dossier. The outcome of the meeting made it clear that the majority of the stakeholders is in favour of maintaining the current proposal, establishing a single, technologically-neutral energy label for heaters.
The week’s events form the ideal meeting place for professionals from the entire PV value chain, as well as policy makers, key players from the electricity sector, leaders of the financial community, and top analysts and experts. The business hub of Frankfurt will become the centre of the PV universe.
Concerns are raised today by ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) in its official response to the Government’s Draft Local Audit Bill about the future of local government audit.
