Eurofound publishes its Annual Update on working time developments in the European Union 2011: Gap between agreed and actual working time across the EU remains wide

(DUBLIN, IRELAND) The actual working week for full time workers stood at 39.7 hours across the 27 EU Member States in 2011, according to Eurofound's latest annual update of working time developments, an average of 1.6 hours more than the agreed working hours. This comprises, nevertheless, a widening of the gap between agreed and actual working hours in the EU15, but a narrowing in the Member States that joined the EU in 2004 and 2007. Men continue to work longer hours than women on paid work - on average 2.1 hours more per week.

The European Paralympic Committee (EPC) today announced to their members that they will be holding a special reception on 5th September 2012 to showcase the outcomes of the EPC Youth Games 2012 during the Paralympic Games in London. 

Between 20th - 24th June 2012 Brno, Czech Republic hosted the first European Paralympic Committee Youth Games, which saw 350 participants from 14 countries take part in ranging from established sports such as Swimming, Athletics and Table Tennis through to breakthrough disciplines such as RaceRunning.

2011 / 12 Annual Report focuses on strategic outcomes and strategic future of the global accountancy body

ACCA’s (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) Annual Report for 2011 / 12 has been produced for the first time as an integrated report, following the initial approach set out by IIRC (International Integrated Reporting Council). ACCA is a member of IIRC’s Pilot Programme for organisations seeking to move to integrated reporting.

Record number of students complete ACCA exams

Results from the ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) examinations in June 2012 show that a record number of students have successfully completed their final exams.

Candidates around the world took almost 370,000 papers, with 7,160 students successfully completing their final ACCA exams, representing a 13.4% increase on last session.
