S&Ds present roadmap for sustainable Europe in Slovenia

S&D Group leader Udo Bullmann will travel to Ljubljana and Maribor in Slovenia to present the Progressive Society policy report on Sustainable Equality*  at an event on Friday, March 5, together with S&D vice-president and Slovenian MEP Tanja Fajon.

Mobility Package: S&Ds help to broker a compromise to improve working conditions of professional drivers

The European Parliament today backed a cross-party deal on the so-called Mobility Package, which includes new rules on posting of drivers; working and resting time, and cabotage.*
 
Ismail Ertug, author of the parliamentary report on cabotage and the S&D spokesperson on transport, said:

S&Ds will never accept permanent internal borders within the Schengen area

The European Parliament today restated its strong opposition to the extension of temporary borders within the Schengen passport free zone. MEPs backed a report that makes clear that temporary current border controls that were reintroduced by six countries during the refugee crisis are no longer justified and should be removed as soon as possible. The report also outlines clearer rules on under which circumstances border controls can be reintroduced in the future and places stricter time limits on how long they can last.

S&Ds ensure that new gas pipelines will also comply with EU legislation

Today the European Parliament backed a deal reached with the EU Council to improve the existing Natural Gas Directive. Socialists and Democrats welcome the new common rules for the internal market because it will bring more transparency and security to the supply.  
 

EPCA and PlasticsEurope kicked off a 4th edition of EYDC
