FEDIOL’s General Assembly elects Jordi Costa as new President

Brussels, 17 June 2021 - At its virtual meeting held today, the General Assembly of FEDIOL, the association representing the EU vegetable oil and protein meal industry, elected Mr Jordi Costa as President of FEDIOL for the 2021-2023 mandate.

FEDIOL members also renewed the mandate of Mr John Grossmann (Archer Daniels Midland Company) as Vice-President for a one-year term.

EIPA Establishes Institutional Ties With Albania

Maastricht, NL, 16 June 2021: Today, the European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA) and the Albanian School of Public Administration (ASPA) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) to cooperate in fields of mutual interest. ASPA is an autonomous government institution, and its mission is to train the civil servants of the central government, local government, and independent institutions.

S&Ds condemn the attack on the People's Democratic Party (HDP) offices, and murder of Deniz Poyraz in Turkey

Today, the office of the HDP party in Izmir, Turkey, was attacked by an assailant, who killed one of the party's female staffers, Deniz Poyraz. The S&D Group condemns the attack and expresses solidarity with her family and the HDP Party.

The Single European Sky is eventually becoming a reality. The vote on the Regulation in the Transport Committee today lays down rules for the creation and effective functioning of the Single European Sky, in order to ensure current air-traffic safety standards. As requested by the S&D Group, it will also contribute to the sustainable development of air transport systems and to improving the overall performance of air traffic management and air navigation services, in line with targets on climate, the environment and social rights.
