FAO and IFAH join forces to improve the quality of trypanosomiasis medicines in Africa

Rome, July 2008 - Dr. George Gunn, President of the International Federation for Animal Health (IFAH), visited Mr. James G. Butler, Deputy Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding for animal health cooperation on the establishment of standards and protocols for the quality control of trypanocidal drugs in Africa.

COST - European CO-operation in Science and Technology

COST contributes to reducing the fragmentation in European research investments and opening the European Research Area to cooperation worldwide.

MEPs adopted a first-reading legislative report on proposals to simplify and modernise the rules for the computerised reservation systems used by high-street and online travel agents to book airline tickets for their customers. MEPs believe this will mean more competition and therefore lower distribution costs, but they also want measures to ensure consumers get a fair deal - and can be presented with environment-friendlier travel options.

EC Commission position on interchange for direct debit
