The S&D Group condemns the illegal invasion and continued occupation of Cyprus, as the only member state of the European Union that remains divided, and reiterates its strong commitment for the reunification of the island within the EU.

6th July marked the deadline for EU member states to implement the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) into national legislation. As is often the case, however, many countries have not met the deadline.

Getting access to the electricity grid is now the number one bottleneck to deploying renewables at scale. Across Europe hundreds of gigawatts of wind energy projects have applied for a grid connection permit and are waiting for an answer.

Representatives from the United Nations, European Commission, the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights and the Maltese Government joined Eurochild members and guests in the discussions on how to tackle child poverty and social exclusion across Europe.
