Brussels, 8 March 2013 /// The International Women’s Day 2013 finds Europe at a stage where significant efforts have been made in terms of gender equality and empowerment of women in society. However, discrimination against women still exists and Europe often fails to protect the rights of its female citizens. Women with disabilities, in particular, have to deal with a double challenge: the discrimination they often face for their gender, and the discrimination they face due to their disability.

LINQ 2013 invites all experts, practitioners and interested stakeholders in the fields of lifelong learning, education and training from Europe and all countries worldwide to present, share and discuss experiences, expertise and open questions!

The 2nd European Conference on "Learning Innovations and Quality" (LINQ 2013) on May 16th and 17th will take place at the Global Headquarters of the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Rome, Italy.

The European plastics industry welcomes the Commission’s Green Paper on Plastic Waste as a catalyst for joint action amongst different key players to achieve the vision of ‘Zero Plastics to Landfill by 2020’. The plastics industry supports alternative solutions to the landfilling of plastics waste and to maintain plastics in the circular economy for as long as possible. Every year in Europe, 10 million tonnes of post-consumer plastic waste are buried in landfills. Instead of landfilling, these plastics could be a resource for recycling and energy recovery.
