This was the key message delivered by Kate Ling, Vice Chair of CEEP’s Education and Training Task Force, at the meeting of the European Social Partners with the European Ministers of Employment and Social Security in Vilnius today.

"In spite of strong opposition from some industrial lobby groups, MEPs have backed a positive and sustainable proposal on indirect land use change (ILUC) to biofuel production and the promotion of using energy from renewable sources," GUE/NGL MEP Sabine Wils said after today's vote in the European Parliament's Environment committee.

European household appliance manufacturers, represented by CECED1, welcome the Commission’s consultation and Green Paper on the 2030 Framework for Climate and Energy Policy.

This Green Paper offers an opportunity to continue and strengthen the current EU Climate and Energy policy framework and provides the EU industry with the rights signals and incentives to invest and enhance competitiveness in a global environment.
 

Europe’s banks welcome the announcement today by the European Commission, of a Single Resolution Mechanism as a complement to the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM) within the project of the Banking Union.

Today the European Commission adopts a new proposed €3.8 billion Public Private Partnership for Biobased industries in Europe, aimed at ensuring smart, sustainable and inclusive economic growth, and at enabling Europe to become a world-leading Innovation Union . The proposal comes as part of an innovation investment package of new Joint Technology Initiatives (JTIs) under Horizon 2020.
