Students demonstrate strong technical and ethical competencies in exams as ACCA announces pass rates for September 2019 exam sitting

Pass rates for the latest exam sitting are announced today by ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants).

More than 99,000 students around the world entered the September exam sitting, in which over 123,000 exams were taken. A further 51,269 exams were taken on demand between 1 July and 30 September 2019 - a 9% increase in exams taken when compared to the equivalent period to September 2018, showing the demand of ACCA continues to grow.

Today, at the initiative of the Socialists and Democrats, the European Parliament supported a resolution on foreign electoral interference and disinformation in national and European democratic processes. Given continued evidence of attempts by state and non-state actors to undermine political systems in member states and to destabilise the EU by interfering in elections, the resolution calls on the Commission and the member states to tackle this problem at both European and national level.

The next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) 2021 - 2027 is crucial for the proper functioning of the EU. In a vote today, in Plenary, S&D MEPs have emphasised that the EU budget should reflect the current needs and requests of EU citizens - such as commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals, and a Just Transition Fund. Furthermore, negotiations with the Council should start with no further delay, as essential programmes could be under threat. This will prove to be detrimental to their recipients, and this is an option we will not accept.
