The European Margarine Association (IMACE) welcomes the adopted legislation by the European Commission (amending Part B of Annex III to Regulation (EC) No 1925/2006) setting a legal limit in the content of industrially produced trans fats in food sold to retail* and intended for the final consumer that shall not exceed 2 grams per 100 grams of fat in the final food.

New Study Demonstrates Safe Use of Brominated Polymeric Flame Retardant

A new paper by Koch et al. entitled “Degradation of brominated polymeric flame retardants and effects of generated decomposition products”  has recently been published in the journal Chemosphere. The same authors published earlier this year two papers on the same subject  . This paper provides a summary of the state on knowledge on the Polymeric FR and the author’s previous work on the substance.

S&D Group achieved binding transparency rules for financial industry on the sustainability of investments

The European Parliament voted today to confirm the agreement on an ambitious report on implementing transparency and disclosure reporting on the sustainability impact of financial products. The S&D Group took the lead on this file and succeeded on several key issues, including a more transparent approach on remuneration policies. Under the new rules, banks, insurance companies and pension funds will for the first time have to make visible how they include environmental, social and governance risks in their decision making process.
