Brussels, 6 November 2024 — The Energy Storage Coalition congratulates Dan Jørgensen on his two-thirds majority approval as the European Commissioner-designate for Energy and Housing. During his parliamentary hearing on 5 November, Jørgensen highlighted his vision to address interconnected challenges: energy independence, energy prices greatly impacting households and EU competitiveness, and of course climate change which he called “a moral duty” for us to fight.
European Aluminium has released its 2024 Environmental Profile Report, providing a comprehensive analysis of the industry's environmental impact across the entire aluminium value chain in Europe1 . The report highlights significant reductions in carbon emissions thanks to increased energy efficiency and the growing use of low-carbon electricity.
