Eurefas - The European Refurbishment Association announces the publication of the Pledge towards a qualitative electronic device refurbishment sector

EUREFAS, which currently counts 17 members, gathered in Brussels in May 2022 for its second annual General Assembly. Here, the Pledge was discussed, and the members were able to interact with key EU stakeholders from the European Commission. Main topics included the Sustainable Product regulation and the Right to Repair movement, aiming to shape the industry and encourage consumers to change consumer habits towards greener products.

 

FEDIOL releases environmental footprint study

Brussels, 15 June 2022 - FEDIOL just released a study on Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) profiles of vegetable oil and protein meal products commissioned to the Belgian research institute VITO.

At a joint voting session today, the Environment and Economic and monetary affairs committees in the European Parliament voted in favour of a resolution that objects to the EU Commission’s Taxonomy Complementary Delegated Act. MEPs thereby stated their rejection of the Commission proposal.

Today, a delegation of Socialists and Democrats MEPs led by group leader Iratxe García held meetings with officials in Ramallah, including prime minister Mohammad Shtayyeh and deputy foreign minister Amal Jadou.

They also met representatives of civil society and women’s organisations, as well as the brother of the journalist Shireen Abu Akhle, recently killed in Jenin.

The S&D Group in the European Parliament has today heavily criticised the unilateral action proposed by the UK government to override the Northern Ireland Protocol.

The UK Government wants to give its Ministers unilateral powers to set post-Brexit rules governing trade between Great Britain and Northern Ireland, seeking to establish a new system for checks on goods entering Northern Ireland from Great Britain and a so-called dual regime for regulatory standards.
