Ukraine: Joseph Daul condemns second wave of political repressions in the Ukraine and demands immediate access to Tymoshenko

Following the reported beating of the former Prime Minister of the Ukraine, Yulia Tymoshenko, and her hunger strike, Joseph Daul, Chairman of the EPP Group, said: "In the name of the EPP Group in the European Parliament, I condemn the escalation of political repression in the Ukraine. This is simply unacceptable." At the same time, Joseph Daul called upon Tymoshenko to end her hunger strike: "Yulia, we will find another way to help you!"

Huawei Reports FY11 Revenue of CNY 203.9 Billion, R&D Investment of CNY 23.7 Billion and Embarks on Business Transformation

Shenzhen, China, 23 April, 2012: Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, today released its audited full-year 2011 financial results, recording sales revenues of CNY 203.9 billion, an 11.7% growth over the previous year. Huawei also reported net profits of CNY 11.6 billion. These results were in line with Huawei’s business revenue expectations.

European Federalists despise renationalisation of border control

On the occasion of a joint europewide meeting of the Young European Federalists and the Union of European Federalists in Leuven starting today the Schengen initiative of France and Germay was taken up with lack of sympathy.

"People must be able to exercise their fundamental right to energy. The use of scarce resources must be relocated to serve the peoples' needs in order to fight against poverty and for respect for the environment."
