EFET launches a new gas standard contract for the Spanish OTC market

On 23rd September the European Federation of Energy Traders (EFET)1 published a Spanish Gas Appendix (AOC Appendix) to the EFET Gas Master Agreement.

The bilingual Spanish-English AOC (Almacenamiento Operativo Comercial) Appendix is the product of the joint efforts of lawyers and industry representatives to develop an industry standard for gas trading in the Spanish market. It reflects the specific AOC terminology in relation to defined terms, confirmations, scheduling, force majeure, remedies for failure to deliver or take, off-spec gas and taxes.

Martin Turner elected as ACCA President for 2013 / 14

ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) has announced that health sector management consultant Martin Turner FCCA is ACCA’s President for 2013 / 14.

The global professional body for accountants has also appointed Anthony Harbinson FCCA as its Deputy President and Alexandra Chin FCCA as its Vice President.

Lampedusa tragedy: journey to the EU ends in death

The GUE/NGL Group expresses its horror and shame upon hearing the news of the terrible tragedy that unfolded yesterday a few kilometres off the shore of Lampedusa.

GUE/NGL President Gabi Zimmer said: "We can't keep turning a blind eye to these tragedies that continue to happen on our doorstep."

She continued: "We call on European leaders to take responsibility and develop a fair and human asylum policy as well as take concrete action on real sea-rescue plans that will help save the lives of migrants at sea."
