The European Commission has published its proposal for Horizon Europe, an ambitious €100 billion research and innovation programme that will succeed Horizon 2020. Last night, the European Parliament's Committee on Agriculture voted for the opinion on this programme with a clear majority, especially supporting an increase in funding for the research programme for Food and Natural Resources’ innovations to €10 billion.

Challenges in the permitting procedure mean the latest German onshore wind auction has come in under-subscribed. The prices – average €62.6/MWh - were also up on the €57/MWh in the last auction in May.
 

PES confirms names put forward for common candidate

PES - Party of European Socialists
The Party of European Socialists has today announced the candidates vying to lead the Party into the 2019 European elections. 
 
The deadline to submit nominations was on 18/10/2018 at 23.59. To qualify, a candidate needed to secure a nomination from a PES full member party or organisation, and the support of 25% of PES full member parties or organisations.
