"Implementation of mandatory malnutrition screening": the MNI Grant 2019 was granted to APNEP for a project promoting effective malnutrition diagnosis

Krakow, Poland – 2 September 2019 - Since 2008 the Medical Nutrition International Industry (MNI) has annually awarded a national initiative promoting optimal nutritional care. With an ambitious multi-stakeholder project on the implementation of nutritional screening the Portuguese Clinical Nutrition Society – APNEP - was awarded the MNI Grant 2019.

New resources for patients to increase awareness on the use of parenteral nutrition at home

Brussels, 29 August 2019: Good nutrition is an essential part of care. It ensures that patients receive the right nutritional support at the right time whether in hospital, in a community setting or at home. Parenteral nutrition (also called intravenous feeding) is a life-saving therapy for patients with different illnesses that cannot meet their full nutritional needs only through oral or enteral feeding.

(Geneva, Switzerland – 22 August 2019) – There was a big win for giraffes today at the 18th Conference of the Parties (CoP) of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES)  in Geneva, as governments voted in favour of listing the species for the first time to protect it from unregulated trade.

Governments urged to act on domestic ivory markets

(Geneva, Switzerland – 21 August 2019) – Governments attending the 18th Conference of the Parties (CoP18) of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) faced criticism today over failing to close their legal domestic ivory markets – while the forum as a whole agreed to ask such countries to report at the next meeting on what action they are taking.
