Greens/EFA Conference in Athens - Green ways out of the crisis

The Green group in the European Parliament and the European Green Party will be holding a joint conference in Athens from this Friday 9 November until Sunday 11 November. This conference "Green ways out the crisis: It's about the people", which includes debates on topics such as the future of Europe, migration and digital rights, will be hosted by the Greek Green party, Ecologoi Prasinoi.
The public conference opens with a debate on Friday 9 November at 10.00 in the Olympia Room at the Divani Caravel Hotel, 2 Vassileos Alexandrou Avenue, Athens, on "Green ways out of the crisis in Greece and Europe" moderated by Rebecca Harms MEP, Co-President of the Greens/EFA group in the European Parliament. Dany Cohn-Bendit MEP, Co-President of the Greens/EFA group, Nikos Chrysogelos MEP, as well as Monica Frassoni (Co-Chair of the European Green Party) and Jean-Marc Nollet (Vice-President and Walloon Minister for Sustainable Development and Public Service in charge of Energy, Housing and Research, Ecolo, Belgium) will participate in the debate, to be followed by a public discussion open to the audience.
A press conference will be held on Friday 9 November at 13.00 also at the Divani Caravel Hotel, Macedonia A room. Speaking at the press conference will be MEPs Dany Cohn-Bendit, Rebecca Harms, Nikos Chrysogelos and Philippe Lamberts.
On Thursday afternoon, a delegation of the Greens/EFA group will meet with the leaders of the three coalition partners currently in government in Greece, Prime Minister Antonis Samaris of the New Democracy party (Nea Dimokratia), Evangelos Venizelos of the Panhellenic Socialist Movement party (PASOK) and Fotis Kouvelis of the Democratic Left party (DIMAR).
