The European Centre for Public Affairs Announces Appointment of Caroline De Cock as Executive Director

Brussels – The European Centre for Public Affairs (ECPA), a long standing European Association of Public Affairs Practitioners in Brussels, is pleased to announce the appointment of Caroline De Cock as its Executive Director with effect from 8th June 2011.

ECPA Chairman Ruth Rawling, said: "I am delighted to announce Caroline's appointment as Executive Director and look forward to the wide range of skills she brings to the organisation. The combination of her in-house and freelance experience is an ideal match to help us build on the legacy of Tom Spencer, founder of the ECPA."

As Executive Director, Caroline De Cock will run the ECPA on a daily basis, and continue its work in promoting the value of good public affairs work to business, civil society and the institutions of government.  ‘I look forward to expand the reach of ECPA moving forward and adapting the organisation to the needs of public affairs practitioners in this new decade’, said De Cock. ECPA will organise various events in the autumn, including a celebration of its 25th Anniversary.

Caroline De Cock, a Belgian national who has previously worked in corporate public affairs in-house roles and as a freelance lobbyist, was born in Africa and spent her childhood moving between Africa, the Middle East and South America. Her professional career includes working with Deloitte & Touche (Brussels) and as Director of EU affairs at Cable & Wireless and Colt Telecom. She is one of the co-founders of N-square Consulting and the EU Girl Geeks network, which is described as a ‘network of ladies who are active in the EU bubble using social-media’. She is also the author of iLobby.eu: Survival Guide to EU Lobbying including the use of social media.
