To mark the fourth anniversary of the .eu domain, EURid* will have a stand at
the Euro Info Point on Rond Point Schuman in Brussels from 22 March-9
April. A seminar will be organised on 7 April at 3pm to inform interested
parties about EURid and the .eu domain name. The media is invited. EURid
CEO Marc Van Wesemael and External Relations Manager Giovanni Seppia
will be available for interviews and to take questions.

Facts, figures and statistics about the .eu domain will be presented at the
seminar as well as EURid’s vision going forward. The impact of the
economic downturn on the growth of the European web domain will also be
addressed.

“The rapid growth across Europe shows how proud we are to be European
and how important it is for many to show their European identity, even on the
internet,” said EURid’s General Manager, Marc Van Wesemael.

EURid External Relations Manager Giovanni Seppia stated “As part of
Europe’s identity, .eu is pleased to celebrate its fourth birthday in the capital
of Europe. The seminars and stand in Brussels will bring people together to
learn and experience the .eu vision in the real world.”

*EURid is the non-profit organisation appointed by the European Commission
to operate the .eu domain name. Set up in 2003, EURid started general
registration of .eu domain names in April 2006. Over 3 million domain names
have been registered to date.
