WASHINGTON, DC – More than 700 global transportation leaders from 22 countries gathered for the International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association's (IBTTA) 84th Annual Meeting and Exhibition in Denver, Colorado, September 11-14, 2016.

On September 14, Emanuela Stocchi, Director of International Affairs, Associazione Italiana Società Concessionarie Autostrade e Trafori (AISCAT) from Rome, Italy, was elected by the IBTTA membership to serve as 2017 President of the International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association (IBTTA). Stocchi’s term begins January 1, 2017. Stocchi has served as a member of the international association’s Executive Committee for the past four years.

“IBTTA is pleased that Emanuela Stocchi will lead the association in 2017. Her leadership and vision will serve as an asset at this critical time when countries around the word are seeking solutions to funding and financing infrastructure,” said Patrick Jones, Executive Director and CEO of IBTTA. “Emanuela’s public affairs and international experience will be a tremendous asset to our Board and industry as we address the challenges before us.”

Upon her election as President, Stocchi said, “I am thrilled and honored that my fellow members of IBTTA have entrusted me with this leadership position.  My previous involvement as a member of the IBTTA Board of Directors has allowed me to engage with members around the world and use my international experience to address the many challenges and opportunities facing our industry.”

The International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association (IBTTA) is the worldwide association representing toll facility owners and operators and the businesses that serve them. Founded in 1932, IBTTA has members in more than 20 countries on six continents. Through advocacy, thought leadership and education, members are implementing state-of-the-art, innovative user-based transportation financing solutions to address the critical infrastructure challenges of the 21st century.
