Freezing of all negotiations between EU and Turkey should finally put into place

In a letter addressed to Donald Tusk and the EU "troika" and in view of next week's EU Summit, EFA President Francois Alfonsi called upon the EU to finally act and protect democracy and the rights of minorities in Turkey.

"Present-day Turkey has changed direction and has proven to be in contrast with core values Europeans stand for, including basic human rights.", highlights Mr. Alfonsi and counts the numerous acts against democracy, rule of law and minorities that took part from July and until this very day.

While most of them are extensively covered by international media, some others like the forced displacement of almost half a million Kurds remain in the dark. They all compose a gruesome picture that needs to urgently addressed and dealt with.
