In line with the deconfinement plan presented by the Belgian Authorities, which allows for the phased-out re-opening of business in Belgium, CEN and CENELEC are happy to announce that the CEN and CENELEC Meeting Centre in Brussels will re-open its doors as of 1 July 2020.

While CEN and CENELEC continue to encourage their staff and visitors to hold virtual meetings as much as possible through the web conference services available, as of that date it will be possible to organise physical meetings in the Meeting Centre, respecting social distancing and observing other strict prevention measures. A detailed description of the measures in place to minimise the risk of infection is available here.

The decision to close the Meeting Centre until 30 June 2020 was taken last 1 April, in light of the rapidly deteriorating sanitary situation and in line with the Belgian Authorities’ decision to contain the COVID-19 virus outbreak.

This new arrangement will remain in place until further notice. CEN and CENELEC will closely monitor the decisions of the Belgian government and update its measures accordingly.
