During the General Assembly meeting of today, 12 December 2011, CEEP members elected Hans-Joachim Reck as President of CEEP for a three years mandate. Mr Reck succeeds to Mr Carl Cederschiöld, who has been leading CEEP since December 2008.

Carl was warmly thanked for his work of the last years and declared: “I wish my successor as President of CEEP all the success possible in his work. The importance of CEEP as the advocate of Public Services cannot be underestimated especially not in the economic crisis that Europe currently suffers from. SGIs are and will remain one of the fundamental elements to have smart growth and social coherence in Europe.”

Following his election Mr Reck declared: “I am very pleased to be elected as President with a widespread support of the other European countries. We will also in the future broadly represent our members’ interests.”

Hans Joachim Reck will be supported by three executive Vice Presidents: Ms Milena

Angelova, from the Bulgarian Section of CEEP, Secretary General of BICA; Mr János Berényi, from the Hungarian Section of CEEP, Chairman of the Board at MALEV, Mr Filippo Brandolini, from the Italian Section of CEEP, President of HERAmbiente
