The European steel industry is in crisis, with thousands of job cuts being recently announced, and billions of euros in decarbonisation plans currently being halted.
Respiratory diseases, including pneumonia, cost healthcare systems billions annually. According to some studies, in the US alone, over 9 billion dollars are spent annually on hospitalizations due to pneumonia, with average hospitalization costs of 20,000 dollars per case. In the EU, respiratory diseases account for about 10% of all healthcare costs, and pneumonia is the leading cause of hospitalization for adults over 65.
A surge in biologics losing market exclusivity creates an opportunity to increase access to treatment, free up vital healthcare resources, enhance budget sustainability thanks to effective market competition.

PostEurop supports the ongoing consideration of the application of the GDPR as well as of the challenges arising in that regard.
PostEurop recognises the aims and benefits of the GDPR framework, to encourage the development of a coherent and reliable data protection framework, for the benefit of citizens as well as society more broadly.
However, it is critical that this framework is clear, foreseeable and operationally workable. The GDPR must provide “legal and practical certainty for economic operators and public authorities”.
COP29 ended, but it didn’t deliver the ambitious and transformative climate action for which we were aiming, but hope and ambition are present in the climate movement as our eyes now turn to Belém, in Brazil for COP30.
