As the interinstitutional negotiations are about to resume on the coordination of social security systems with the new mandate obtained by the Portuguese Presidency, “FIEC is opposed to any form of temporary exemption to the prior notification of the A1 form for the construction industry” warns FIEC Vice-President Joël Schons.

Brussels, 26 February 2021 - The Ecodesign and Energy Labelling Regulations adopted in December 2019 have been revised. An updated version has been published in the Official Journal of the EU today and enters into force in 3 days. LightingEurope members are disappointed that important changes requested by our association have not been included. Most of the new Ecodesign and the Energy Labelling rules start to apply on 1 September 2021.

In light of the public hearing entitled ‘How to increase the capacity of COVID-19 vaccine production and improve delivery’, jointly hosted by the environment, public health and food safety committee (ENVI) and the industry, research and energy committee (ITRE) in the European Parliament, the Socialists and Democrats Group demands all pharmaceutical companies to increase the production of vaccines, and look at future challenges with new variants and strains.
