European aluminium producers oppose suspension of long-overdue anti-dumping duties

Brussels, 11 October 2021 - European Aluminium, the voice of the European aluminium value chain, welcomes the European Commission’s final confirmation of the definitive anti- dumping duties needed to counteract the impact of Chinese dumping of flat-rolled products (FRPs) on the EU market. Accordingly, European Aluminium strongly opposes the contradictory 9-month suspension of these duties officially announced by the European Commission today.

Positive developments in the European grassland equipment market

Brussels/Spelle, 11th October 2021 – The European market for grassland equipment, which includes the product categories loaderwagons, mowers, rakes and tedders, showed a significant increase in sales units in the season July 2020-June 2021. After a rather mediocre market in the season 2019-2020, sales were at the level of 2018-2019. This volume was unexpected, but Austria, France, Germany, Poland and UK showed an average increase of more than 10 percent.

Today, the European Parliament held a debate on the future of EU-US relations. For the S&Ds, the US remains the EU’s closest and most important strategic partner, and we are ready to work with the US for a strong new transatlantic alliance, particularly to promote policies and values dear to progressive forces. But at the same time, the S&Ds insisted in the debate that the EU should seek to redefine its relationship with the US on a more equal footing, standing up for its own values and interests, and reinforcing its autonomy.
