BRUSSELS, December 1, 2010 – The day after the first REACH deadline of 30 November 2010, ReachCentrum, the Cefic subsidiary, announced that the number of lead dossiers registered has been 400 for 105 managed consortia.

The success of the operation is corroborated by the data related to the letter of access e-shop set up by ReachCentrum earlier this year. Through the purchase of the e-shop, 342 SIEFs allowed their SIEF members to access the registration dossier, fulfilling their financial obligation and receiving the required information to complete their own dossiers.

Commenting on these figures, Leo Appelman, managing director of ReachCentrum said: “Seventy-two consortia out of the 105 managed by ReachCentrum used the e-shop, and various types of letters of access have been sold, depending on the substances to be registered. These numbers confirm our commitment to supporting companies through the REACH deadlines.”

ReachCentrum helps industry to comply with the REACH regulation, which requires chemical companies to register those substances they manufacture or import. In the four years of its existence, the service group has gained considerable expertise in managing consortia, conducting SIEF communication, offering an efficient helpdesk and legal support, as well as a variety of trainings and workshops. The group notes that it is always ready to respond to its customers’ needs to facilitate the registration process.

Although the highest priority of most registrants was ultimately focused on meeting the 2010 deadline, ReachCentrum, thanks to the constant development of new services, is already supporting companies anticipating the 2013 and even the 2018 deadlines or the authorisation and evaluation phase.
