On the eve of the Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, Ralf Resch, General Secretary

of CEEP, conveys the request of CEEP members for a worldwide binding agreement on

measures to fight climate change (see attachment). “Climate change concerns all citizens in

the world”, states Ralf Resch, “and it is at that level that decisions really make sense, as a ton

of greenhouse gases emitted in Brussels has the same effect as a ton emitted in Mexico.”

“When the members of CEEP, entrusted with the task of Serving the public, will pursue their

effort to mitigate and adapt to climate change”, continues Ralf Resch, “a binding agreement

in Copenhagen would send a strong message to the citizens who would feel encouraged to

change their consumer behaviour as required by a shift to a low-carbon economy”.
