Commerce committed to action on F-gases, but warns of challenges ahead

Today, the European Commission published its proposal on fluorinated greenhouse gases (F-gases). Companies in commerce have undertaken actions to better identify and control leaks, and have initiated voluntary agreements to phase out hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs). Nevertheless, the proposals remain challenging, especially for smaller companies.

(6 November 2012) A new European campaign is going to be launch at the time of the European Federation of Public Service Unions (EPSU) Executive Committee. The campaign flows from the EPSU tax justice agenda alongside demands for a Financial Transactions Tax, EU common principles on progressive and efficient tax systems, a common corporate tax, and closing down tax heavens. Tax justice is central to the trade union alternatives to austerity in Europe.

Crash landing for EU Commission's groundhandling services proposal

The European Parliament's Transport Committee today rejected Commission plans for European groundhandling services. In adopting this amendment of rejection the Committee effectively binned the Commission's draft new groundhandling services regulation.
 

Lithuanian elections: Will the needed reforms continue?
