Twelve officers holding the Chair or Secretariat of CEN and CENELEC Technical Bodies were presented the CEN and CENELEC Technical Body Officers and Secretaries Awards on 12 December 2019 in Brussels. The Awards are a biennial event through which outstanding contributions of experts to the work of European standardization is celebrated.
Brussels, 12 December 2019 – On 2019 CECIMO General Assemblies elected Massimo Carboniero as Chairman of the Technical Committee, and Bruno Cathomen as Chairman of the Communication and Advocacy Committee, for a period of two years. Delegates also confirmed Marcus Burton as Chairman of the Economic Committee for another mandate.
12/12/2019 – Proper implementation of EU food allergen regulation saves lives. The EU Regulation on Food Information to Consumers (FIC) and its provisions relating to food-allergen labelling was a major step in protecting European consumers from food allergens. However, its implementation in the areas of prepacked, non-prepacked and food services in some countries is falling short.

With a bold industrial strategy in place, the industry can cut CO2 emissions from primary production by up to 70% by 2050 and save an extra 1500 million tonnes of CO2 emissions through increased recycling.
