Instantly online-17 golden rules to combat online risks and for safer surfing mobile social networks

The EU ‘cyber security’ Agency - ENISA (the European Network and Information Security Agency) today presents a new report on accessing social networks over mobile phones, ‘Online as soon as it happens“. The report points out the risks and threats of mobile social networking services, e.g. identity theft, corporate data leakage and reputation risks of mobile social networks. The report also gives 17 ‘golden rules’ on how to combat these threats.

Kick off for the CEN-CENELEC SMEs Working Group

Brussels, 4 February 2010 - The newly formed SME Working Group (SME WG) established by CEN (The European Committee for Standardization) and CENELEC (The European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization), met for the first time on 4 February 2010. The set-up of this new SME WG will allow closer monitoring of the actions targeting SMEs in the European standardization arena, and ensure their implementation and follow-up.

Euro NCAP’s Top Five Safety Achievers of 2009

2009 saw the introduction of Euro NCAP’s new rating scheme that awards an overall score for safety covering four areas of assessment: adult, child, pedestrian and safety assist. For the first time, Euro NCAP can now release its top five safest cars of 2009, based on their maximum five star award and their overall score.  Top of this list is the Volkswagen Golf VI that was first tested in 2008 under the former rating scheme and was re-released in 2009.
