Mareike Crone from Frankfurt-am-Main in Germany is one of 33 students to win a global award from ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) for outstanding performance in their 2010 exams.
Mareike is an ACCA Prizewinner for scoring the highest mark in the ACCA Qualification for Paper F8 which focuses on Audit and Assurance. In 2010, over 205,000 students sat ACCA exams.
Roger Acton, ACCA’s director for Europe and Americas, says: “I am very happy for Miss Crone. Her hard work and efforts have been rewarded by exceptional results. This award is just a small way for ACCA to say well done to her.”
Mareike Crone is an Assistant Manager – Risk & Compliance – for KPMG AG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft in Germany. When asked why she chose the ACCA Qualification over the other professional qualifications available, she said: “Having spent time abroad during school and university I decided to gain an accounting qualification that is accepted on a global level and I felt that ACCA is becoming increasingly popular worldwide.
“Also, I found the flexibility that ACCA gives the students in being able to choose how many exams to take at a time and how to combine them appealing” she added.
After exam results are released, ACCA recognises exceptionally talented students from around the world. Awards are given to the highest performing ACCA and CAT students.
Roger Acton says: “All the students who have won an award are truly exceptional. I hope they are successful in their future careers and they achieve the goals they have set for themselves.”
