CPME Board met on 22 June 2010 in Brussels.

In a meeting that discussed many issues related to current developments on the European health agenda, the topic of health inequalities was specially focused on.

The wide disparities in access to health care between the EU Member States, but also between regions within one Member State as well as violations of the right to health remain a worry to doctors. Given the complexity of the issue and local specificities, CPME recommends to address the problem through agreed action both on EU level and on the level of the National Medical Associations. CPME has identified priority areas for action and will continue its activities in the field of health inequalities on their basis.
