Brussels, 13 November 2025:
The European Parliament’s vote on Omnibus I is a key step towards regulatory simplification. FuelsEurope welcomes the European Parliament’s agreement on Omnibus I, which marks an important milestone in advancing towards a simpler corporate sustainability framework in the EU.
The Parliament’s position addresses many of the practical challenges faced by companies in the implementation of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD). The targeted amendments have sent a strong signal in favour of smarter regulation, ensuring that sustainability reporting and due diligence obligations remain both ambitious and implementable.
As the legislative process now moves into interinstitutional negotiations, FuelsEurope encourages policymakers to continue reducing unnecessary complexity and overlaps.
Liana Gouta, Director General FuelsEurope underlined “A well-calibrated regulatory framework is essential to safeguard our industry’s competitiveness, while enabling European companies to continue investing, innovating, and driving the green transition.”
