The EU-funded Project DiBiCoo – “Digital Global Biogas Cooperation” – supports the project development of five selected demo projects in the southern hemisphere. The project developers are currently looking for technology partners to realize their projects.
These are the five demo projects:
Argentina
The company Bioeléctrica, based in Rio Cuarto, wants to utilize mixed municipal solid waste in co-digestion with thin stillage coming from a bio-ethanol production. The company is looking for technology partners for waste management and pre-treatment, as well as feeding.
Ethiopia
The consortium from Bahir Dar University and the “Lake Tana and other water bodies protection agency” are looking for technical solutions to harvest, pre-treat, feed and digest water plants at the Lake Tana. The biogas will be utilized in a CHP to be fed into the grid.
Ghana
Beta Construction Engineers Ltd. are looking for technology partners to utilize the municipal waste of Cape Coast. They need technological concepts and equipment to handle the waste and to utilize it for electricity production from biogas.
Indonesia
The company PT. Ecody Agro Energi (Ecody) is looking for pre-treatment- and digestion systems for fibrous, high-dry matter material from agricultural production in the province of Kalimantan.
Republic of South Africa
Crosspoint Property Investments is currently developing a smart city around Lanseria Airport. Since they are looking for a zero-waste concept, one goal is the utilization of all suitable biogenic municipal waste for energy production via anaerobic digestion. In a first stage, sludge from a nearby waste water treatment works is utilized, with the cleant biogas directly supplied via a micro grid to nearby cunsumers for cooking, heting and cooling purposes.
