Since the first day of Russia's aggression against Ukraine, the PGE Group has been involved in activities supporting refugees. To this end, through the PGE Foundation, it provided financial support in the amount of PLN 420 thousand to help the Ukrainians fleeing war. Employees of PGE Group companies also became involved in the activities and collected 5 buses full of gifts for those in need. Also sports teams and cultural institutions under the patronage of PGE joined in the assistance to Ukraine.
We are constantly increasing our assistance, adapting it to current needs. So far we have already provided financial support in the amount of more than 400 thousand PLN to help refugees from Ukraine. We are in constant contact with Caritas and the government administration. PGE Group companies throughout Poland have also joined in the collection of gifts for refugees. I would like to thank all our employees for their assistance and involvement," said Wojciech Dąbrowski, President of the Management Board of PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna
PGE has provided accommodation at its "Energetyk" centre in Nałęczów, where 80 family members of Ukrainian energy workers from the DTEK energy company, fleeing Russian aggression against Ukrainians, have found shelter. They are provided with food, care and hygiene products and all necessary supplies.
The collection of the most necessary items for people fleeing war has also begun in all PGE Group companies. The items collected so far have been packed into 5 buses and delivered to centres where refugees are staying. Further transports with gifts will leave for those in need next week.
Moreover, the PGE Foundation supports the youngest children by donating therapeutic teddy bears. So far, teddy bears have been given to nearly 400 Ukrainian children. Further teddy bears will be delivered as needed.
Since 25 February, the PGE Foundation has made donations totalling 420,000 PLN, which will be used to help refugees, as well as to purchase items and send them to those in need in Ukraine.
Teams of PGE volunteers also work in the border zone. PGE also encourages the Group's employees and all volunteers to visit Regional Blood Donation and Haemotherapy Centres and Blood Collection Points in order to donate blood for the needy in Ukraine.
Also sports teams and cultural institutions under the patronage of PGE became involved in the action of helping the Ukrainians. The National Museum in Warsaw will conduct animations in Polish and Ukrainian from this weekend. Numerous attractions and a place to play await the youngest children. The educational space is inspired by the 19th Century Art Gallery, whose Patron is PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna. PGE has also donated the necessary materials and accessories for the activities with children.
Sports academies sponsored by PGE provide free trainings for children and young people, donate sports equipment and necessary products to centres hosting refugees from Ukraine, as well as items for auctions, the proceeds from which are donated to help the Ukrainians or prepare accommodation places.
