On the eve of the vote on second reading on the ‘pesticides package’ by the Parliament’s Environment Committee, the presidents of the 76 Copa – Cogeca member organisations have met in Brussels to debate the dossier, on which they have reached a unanimous position.
Copa and Cogeca share the objectives highlighted in the pesticides package to protect the environment as well as the health of users and consumers. In this spirit, the President of Copa, Jean-Michel Lemétayer, calls upon MEPs to demonstrate pragmatism and responsibility when voting on the pesticides package so as to enable farmers to reach the objective of producing more and in a better way, at a time when the world is facing a food crisis.
