The City Hall of Issy-les-Moulineaux welcomes, Friday 5th of October 2012, a European seminar dedicated to local authorities interested in the Open Data process. If the value and potential of Open Data are not to be questioned anymore, many ask themselves practical questions before involving them into the process.

This is within the European project « Citadel on the move », in which takes part Issy-les- Moulineaux along with Manchester, Gent, and Athens, that this seminar will be held.

The speakers will try to answer to the numerous questions asked, where to begin ? What impact on internal organization ? Free or Fee ? What platform can be used? How to encourage companies to develop useful applications ? Why so much Open Data and less applications? What is the real use of Open Data?

To answer it, representatives from Gent, Brussels, Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Manchester will be present and will introduce their experiences along with experts of the topic.

Issy-les-Moulineaux, pioneer city in the digital field, has open in February 2012 a space in its website http://data.issy.com, in order to publish data linked to city’s budget, last elections results, cultural events list, city’s geolocated points of interests, etc.

A hundred of French and European experts, representatives of local authorities and

companies will tackle during this seminar, the Open Data on a very practical view.
