“The European Association Awards are filling a void. Organisations from across Europe now have an opportunity to be recognised for their programme excellence. We welcome entries that reflect national-level campaigns, as well as those initiatives that cross borders in Europe,” said Claire Wormsley, Managing Director of GCN, the Award organisers.

“Trade associations across Europe play a pivotal part in ensuring their members’ voices are heard. The European Association Awards 2016 offer an excellent way for organisations to showcase their work. The European Union is in the midst of seismic change. In a time of uncertainty, trade associations continue to work hard to help transform public affairs and business representation.”

The European Association Awards will be judged by 29 senior-level leaders of European trade and professional associations. All entries will be scrutinised through a rigorous and transparent online process.

Carlos Lee, Director General of European Photonics Industry Consortium EPIC, has been selected as a judge for the inaugural edition of the awards. He said, “Industry associations play a pivotal role in Europe’s overall competitiveness, and we need to constantly raise performance standards. The promotion gained through public awards is a reminder, not only to the recipient, but to all association stakeholders to continuously seek to increase impact.”

Entries must represent any events, campaigns or initiatives conducted by an association or memberbased organisation based in Europe. The activity must have taken place between 1 September 2015 and November 2016.

The European Association Awards 2016 entry deadline is Friday, 4 November 2016. Finalists will be announced in January 2017, and the European Association Awards ceremony will take place in Brussels on 24 February 2017.
