Financial sustainability leads the agenda at ACCA’s ninth International Public Sector Conference

ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) will host its flagship global event for finance professionals in the public sector.
This year’s International Public Sector Conference features leading public sector speakers at the top of the profession and brings together hundreds of public sector finance professionals from across the globe. The two-day conference is held on 28 February – 1 March in Prague, Czech Republic.
Professionals from around the world will gather to discuss pertinent issues. Key topics will be:
- financially sustainable methods of funding infrastructure - including the launch of a flagship new report on Bridging the Infrastructure Gap
- financial reporting, public financial management and the implementation of international standards
- the role of accountants in tackling fraud, corruption and serious organised crime
- innovating the public sector in the digital age
- the role of supreme audit institutions in delivering a sustainable public sector.
The conference will feature contributions from leading figures in the accountancy profession, including Tomáš Vyhnánek (Deputy Minister, Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic), Pamela Monroe-Ellis (Auditor General, Jamaica), Stephen Walker (President, Chartered Accountants Australia New Zealand), Mike Driver (Head of the Government Finance Function, UK Civil Service), Thomas Müller-Marqués Berger (Chair, Accountancy Europe Public Sector Panel) and Anthony Mkpe Ayine (Auditor General, Nigeria).

ACCA’s International Public Sector Conference 2019 will bring together senior decision makers from ministries of finance, national audit offices and national accounting bodies, leaders in local government sector, representatives from the global development community and international bodies and senior private sector accountants who work with the public sector in audit, financing and consultancy.
