On  the  eve of  the Tripartite Social Summit  to be held under French Presidency on  the  two burning  issues  of  the  financial  crisis  and  climate  change  policies,  Rainer  Plassmann Secretary General of CEEP, calls on  the Council  to acknowledge  that “social partners are part of the solution”.
 
“When  looking  for  a European  solution  to  the  financial  crisis”,  says Rainer  Plassmann,  “it should be kept in mind that markets are made up of two kinds of “capital”: One is Money, the other is Trust of citizens and consumers. To reach the latter, framing conditions such as reliable  and  sustainable  services  of  general  interest  and  effective  social  dialogue  are  key factors”.
