"The European social model and European values will only survive globalisation if our countries are capable of finding the way back to growth and employment. We must have confidence in our abilities to innovate and create", said Joseph Daul MEP during a meeting of the EPP Group with Edmund Stoiber, Chairman of the High Level Group of Independent Stakeholders on Administrative Burdens.

"For the economy, as for climate change, energy or foreign affairs, the solution is not less Europe, but more Europe and the Community method", continued the Chairman of the EPP Group.

Joseph Daul paid tribute to Edmund Stoiber's work: "With his tireless efforts to simplify EU legislation, he has given us a clear roadmap on how Europe can make life easier for companies and citizens, while contributing to economic growth and the creation of new jobs. These proposals are essential in finding a solution to the economic challenges Europe is currently facing", Mr Daul concluded.
