PRESS RELEASE

Brussels, 28 April 2022

EuropaBio – the European Association for Bioindustries is pleased to present the SME BioForum, a new activity in 2022 within the framework of its SME Platform.

EuropaBio's SME Platform represents the biotechnology SME community in Europe, in close partnership with EuropaBio's National Associations Council, and advocates for innovative biotechnology delivered through SMEs.

The 2022 SME BioForum will organise two discussion-driven meetings for SME executives in May and October. They will bring together SMEs across countries, market applications, technology platforms and stages of growth, creating an exceptional opportunity to discuss biotechnology commercial development challenges and how the European landscape impacts their ability to grow and deliver to market.

‘We are delighted to offer an exclusive platform for SMEs which provides an environment to address policy framework in which European companies scale up and return on investment here in Europe. It is driven by SMEs and EuropaBio will ensure that their voices are heard at the highest level in policy development so that Europe reaps the benefit from the excellence of its science and innovation.”, said Dr Claire Skentelbery, Director General of EuropaBio.

The meetings will be invitation-only for SME members of EuropaBio and its National Associations plus SME participants at the EFIB conference.

The first 90 minute event will be held online on May 31, 2022. It will focus on Healthcare Biotechnology with the main theme on Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs). The second session, in October, will focus on Industrial Biotechnology, and it will take place in person in Vilnius, Lithuania, during the 2022 European Forum for Industrial Biotechnology and the Bioeconomy (EFIB).

For more information about opportunities of participation please contact José Peres, NAC & SME Coordinator.
