EuropaBio is pleased to announce that Joanna Dupont-Inglis has been appointed Director for Industrial Biotechnology.

Dupont-Inglis, who takes on her new role from 1 April this year, is currently Communications Manager at EuropaBio. She brings over a decade of Brussels-based experience in Public Affairs and Strategic Communications and has an academic background in Environmental Science.  She has spent the majority of her career in consultancy in the energy, environment, health and development sectors advising a broad range of Fortune 500 companies, industry associations and NGOs and has also worked for the European Commission’s Directorate General for the Environment.

Joanna Dupont-Inglis takes over from Dirk Carrez who has successfully held the role for seven years and who EuropaBio bids a fond farewell to as he has decided to pursue new career opportunities.

Commenting on the appointment EuropaBio Secretary General, Nathalie Moll, said: “We are delighted to appoint Joanna to lead the work of the White biotech team.  She takes on her new role at a dynamic time for EuropaBio and for its members.  Arguments in favour of industrial biotechnology and bio-based products have never been more compelling in terms of economic, environmental and societal benefits. The political will to make the EU bio-based economy, already worth nearly €2 trillion and employing around 22 million people, a world leader, is evident.”

Moll concluded: “The Industrial biotech team at EuropaBio and its member companies look forward to continuing to drive this agenda forward, together with stakeholders and regulators, with the aim of developing and implementing a clear strategy for deploying the world’s leading bio-based economy by 2020.”
