EurActiv launches iPhone app

other smartphone apps to follow later this year

EurActiv, the European media network in 15 languages, is pleased to announce the launch of the EurActiv iPhone Application today.

Available for free in the Apple App Store, the EurActiv iPhone app provides access to the articles, interviews, analysis, LinksDossiers, EUX.TV videos and event calendars from most of the EurActiv editorial teams across Europe. The EurActiv iPhone app contains information in English, Bulgarian, Czech, French, German, Hungarian, Polish, Serbian, Slovak, Spanish and Turkish.

"Our readers will be finding the iPhone to be a fantastic platform to experience the EU news and European policy debates coverage that EurActiv’s network partners provide,” said Christophe Leclercq, Founder and Publisher of EurActiv.com. An Android version of the EurActiv app will be released in October and versions for Windows Mobile and Blackberry will be added before the end of the year. “This will make the EurActiv mobile content available natively on over 95% of all smartphones by the end of the year”, announced Jean-Christophe Boulanger, Director of EurActiv France and initiator of the EurActiv smartphone apps project.

"The EurActiv iPhone application provides readers with an even richer, more personalised experience and greater access to our content", explained Jean-Christophe Boulanger. “The content from the home country of the iPhone owner will be shown as the default tab, followed by the English content from EurActiv.com in Brussels in a second tab. However, the user can personalise the EurActiv app to select any preferred languages/countries while filtering for one or more content sections like ‘Euro & Finance’, ‘EU Priorities 2020’ and ‘Sustainable development’”.

Other features of the EurActiv iPhone application include:

Simple navigation interface to view articles and videos quickly

Subscription to any of the EurActiv network partner newsletters

Advanced caching for offline reading

Cross-network search, through 50,000 articles published since 1999

Share articles by email, on Facebook or Twitter

Download the EurActiv iPhone app from the Apple App store here. The launch of the application is sponsored by GE Energy.
