Today EURACTIV launches a brand new microsite to engage with the forthcoming Conference on the Future of Europe (CoFoE). The site aims to bring together in one place all of EURACTIV’s expert coverage and analysis of the Conference, alongside the insight of some of Europe’s movers and shakers, past, present, and future.

To kickstart our series of opinion pieces from thought leaders across Europe, Herman van Rompuy & Žiga Turk placed the Conference in the wider context of democracy itself coming under challenge in recent years. 

Zoran Radosavljevic, Editor-in-Chief of EURACTIV, commenting on the Conference, said: “There is scepticism about the Conference on the Future of Europe’s ability to deliver anything substantial, beyond a non-binding final document, and to truly engage with the general public across Europe. With our new micro-site dedicated to the Conference, and our work to proactively source a range of views on how Europe’s future could develop, we at EURACTIV are showing our commitment to playing a constructive role in taking the conversation forward, as a responsible European media.”  

The microsite includes possibilities for members of the public to engage  in discussions about the future of Europe, by commenting, asking questions, sharing ideas and sparking dialogue, notably with its built-in ‘forum’. Additionally, there is always the option for those interested to submit opinion pieces for consideration.
