[Brussels, Berlin, Paris, London, Madrid] – 10 June 2015 EurActiv, the EU policy media, enters into partnership with Spanish news agency, EFE.

EurActiv.com and EFE have agreed to exchange editorial coverage of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) negotiations and related trade developments between the EU and Latin America.

The partnership kicks off  today in time for the EU-CELAC summit attended by Latin American and Caribbean countries in Brussels on 10-11 June.

Daniela Vincenti, editor-in-chief of EurActiv.com, said “The transatlantic trade negotiations are one of the biggest news stories right now. They involve two of the world’s largest trading blocs, affect businesses and consumers in the EU and the US, and  have  the potential to set standards that will influence global trade and redraft the geo-politics.”

EFE, is the leading Spanish language news agency, the first news agency in the Latin American market and the fourth largest news agency in the world. It joins ten other prestigious media organisations, including The Guardian, La Tribune and Der Tagesspiegel  who have agreed to exchange news content with EurActiv.

The agreement reinforces EurActiv’s pan-European network of 12 affiliates, based in 12 EU capitals, reporting in 12 languages.

Christophe Leclercq, founder of EurActiv, said “These agreements are an important part of our strategy to deliver the best EU journalism possible. We are committed to expanding the breadth and depth of our coverage even further with similar deals – so watch this space.”

Rick Zednik, CEO of EurActiv.com said “These alliances extend the reach of EurActiv’s content and brand to national audiences, beyond the policy professionals. We reach that primary audience directly via the EurActiv sites with localised content in these countries, in the case of Spain on EurActiv.es with our network partner Prestomedia.”

NOTE TO EDITORS
EurActiv.com recently signed content partnerships with La Tribune in France, Der Tagesspiegel in Germany and has exchanged news stories with the British national daily The Guardian, for the last three years, in particular on environment and development policy. EurActiv established partnerships with media in several Central European countries, like the business daily Dnevnik in Bulgaria, the popular online news site Hotnews.ro in Romania and the Beta News Agency in Serbia.
