ESMIG and 31 member companies to promote smart metering revolution at Amsterdam expo

Brussels – 09 October 2012 ESMIG, the European Smart Metering Industry Group, along with dozens of its member companies are appearing at Metering, Billing/CRM Europe 2012, which opens at the RAI Center, Amsterdam, between 9-11 October 2012. ESMIG will be exhibiting on stand F24 as well as participating in a range of promotional and consultative events, and is inviting interested parties to come and meet its team.

Key ESMIG representatives will deliver the Group’s core messages and the results of its latest research project with energy think-tank VaasaETT, and its new White Papers defining security requirements for smart metering and a strategy for achieving successful demand-response. ESMIG’s International Alliances Director, Dr. Howard Porter says, “ESMIG’s focus will be on demand-side integration. Demand response and dynamic pricing are two approaches that can lead to significant energy savings and lower bills.” ESMIG is in a unique position to combine the telecoms and energy worlds by offering integrated products and services to the consumer.

Considering the rapid developments in smart metering and the growing international trend towards smarter energy management, Metering, Billing/CRM Europe will this year be run simultaneously with two complementary events: Transmission & Distribution/Smart Grids Europe and Smart Homes. Metering Europe director Aida Mezit comments, “The traditional, centralised energy sector is experiencing a seismic shift in the way electricity is produced, managed and consumed. We are expecting that 6500 utility professionals will gather for our annual event, which has become Europe’s largest such industry conference and exhibition.”
