
Electronic Invoicing – standards for interoperability

The European Standardization System has a long-standing commitment to encourage innovation and promote interoperability. In support of this mission − and based on the expertise of more than 70 companies, tax authorities and technical experts − CEN has published today the results of its Workshop on ‘Electronic Invoices and Compliance’ in Europe.
Brussels (10 December 2009) – Substantial savings for business can be achieved through carrying out transactions electronically. However, this requires interoperable solutions, and, in the case of electronic invoicing, solutions that meet the needs of public authorities (regarding VAT, for example) across all European member states.
